Brand & strategy
Tone of voice
A brand's communication tone — the consistent style and personality of its expression across all copy and channels.
Tone of voice is how a brand speaks — vocabulary, rhythm, level of formality and humor. It's the brand's audible personality, consistent from the website to customer support.
Why it matters
A consistent tone builds recognition and trust. Fragmented communication, by contrast, feels unprofessional and weakens the brand.
Real-world example
A bank might choose a "confident but human" tone — no corporate jargon. It then keeps that same voice in emails, on the website and in social replies.
