Off-page SEO
Activities beyond your own site — chiefly link building and mentions — that raise a domain's authority and trust.
Off-page SEO is everything that influences rankings outside the page itself: backlinks from other sites, brand mentions, PR, reviews and third-party signals. Google reads them as "votes of confidence".
Why it matters
When two pages have equally good content, authority is the tie-breaker. Quality links from relevant sites move rankings up faster than almost anything else.
Real-world example
An agency's expert article gets cited by a larger industry publication with a link back. That link passes authority and helps other pages on the domain rank higher too.
