SERP
The Search Engine Results Page — what Google shows after a query, including organic and paid results.
A SERP (Search Engine Results Page) is the results page of a search engine. Today it's far more than ten blue links — you'll find featured snippets, People Also Ask, maps, images, shopping boxes and AI overviews.
Why it matters
Ranking alone isn't enough — how your page looks in the SERP and how much space it occupies matters too. Rich results and snippets sharply lift click-through.
Real-world example
A page with FAQ structured data earns an expanded result with expandable questions. It takes up more SERP real estate and steals clicks from competitors ranked above it.
