Long-tail keyword
A longer, more specific search query with lower volume but higher buying intent and less competition.
A long-tail keyword is a specific multi-word query, e.g. "best CRM for small online stores". Individually they have low volume, but together they make up the majority of all searches.
Why it matters
Long-tail queries are less competitive and convert far better — someone searching this specifically is closer to a decision.
Real-world example
A new brand doesn't try to rank for "CRM" but for dozens of long-tail queries like "CRM for photographers with invoicing". Together they bring qualified, purchase-ready traffic.
